Investors all over the world are looking towards Africa for opportunities. The continent has a large amount of untapped investment opportunities in various areas. In recent times a number of investment fora have been held in Europe and other parts of the world discussing investment opportunities on the continent.
On Monday December 14, 2009, the Africa Finance and Investment Forum (AFIF) will start in Amsterdam, a press statement from the organizers, Brussels-based EMRC, in cooperation with the Netherlands Development Finance Company FMO and copied to ghanabusinessnews.com has said.
Commenting on the importance of the forum, Idit Miller, vice-president and Managing Director of EMRC said, “this conference will be much more than a talk shop. Holding AFIF in Amsterdam carries a powerful message from the African continent onto the doorstep of key international decision-makers,” adding, “this message, which is increasingly being heard, is that the African continent is no longer just about natural resources and commodities but much more about untapped opportunities in the fields of energy, agri-business, trade, retail, health, finance, housing and industrial development – to name just a few”.
The dominant theme of the conference this year is partnerships for growth and development, with a specific focus on financing of SME projects, the statement said.
