inflationMalawi’s headline consumer inflation slowed to 7.3 percent year-on-year in October from 7.5 percent in September as food inflation continued to ease, the National Statistical Office (NSO) said on Tuesday.

“Food inflation has gone down by 6.4 percent compared to 7.4 percent registered during the same period last year,” the NSO said in a statement, adding non-food inflation also slowed.

Inflation in the southern African nation has been slowing since hitting a two year peak of 10.1 percent year-on-year in January this year.
