obamaUS President Barack Hussein Obama would pay a visit to Ghana in July, a statement from Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has said.

The visit will be Obama’s first to Africa after becoming president.

The statement released in Accra Friday May 15, 2009 said the two-day visit would be from Friday, July 10 to Saturday, July 11, 2009. President Obama would be accompanied by his wife Michelle Obama and other government officials.

According to the statement, “during his visit, President Obama will hold bilateral talks with his Ghanaian counterpart, President John Evans Atta Mills, aimed at strengthening the fraternal relations existing between the two countries.”

President Obama, the first Black person to become president of the United States is very popular with most people around the world. The 44th president of America, his ascendancy to the highest office in America is seen by many as a sign of major turn-arounds in US and global politics and international relations.

The US President and his delegation will also visit the Cape Coast Castle, the statement added.

    He will be the first US President to visit Ghana since February 2008. Will he be thanking high level Ghanaians for their help in the Kenyan Election Violence last year? His man got appointed prime minister after he lost the election.

    Awwww this is amazing, why Ghana and not other African countries……so this means that there’s something good in this our motherland…..God thank am Ghanaian and I am proud to be a Ghanaian…….I can’t wait to see him besides I saw Prez Bush when he came and now Prez Obama lol the great one him self is coming down here………..but come to think of it, this country is very dirty and we need to clear all the mess in every area cos I know this Tv station FOX 8……lol they will shot and take pictures of every corner which is mess to US so ma fellow Ghanaian we need to clear the mess in this country b4 Obama comes here……
