Nigeria’s central bank will pay 12.1 billion naira ($81.8 million) to compensate depositors of two failed banks, the Guardian reported, citing Tunde Lemo, a deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
A sum of 8.8 billion naira will be paid to former depositors of Fortune International Bank Plc, while 3.3 billion naira has been earmarked for Triumph Merchant Bank Plc depositors, the Lagos-based newspaper said.
