Editors Forum of Ghana elects officers
The Editors Forum of Ghana (EFG) has elected substantive officers to run the affairs of the organization.
At its monthly meeting of February 11, 2009 at the International Press Centre, where its Constitution was promulgated, substantive officers were also elected.
Ms. Ajoa Yeboah-Afari, former President of the GJA, who was also once the editor of The Ghanaian Times, was elected as Chair, Dr. Bonnah Koomson, lecturer at the School of Communication Studies, Legon, as Vice Chair and Mr. Abu Issa Monnie of Peace FM as Secretary.
The others are Mr. Edmund Smith-Asante, of the Observer newspaper, Treasurer, Mr. Emmanuel K. Dogbevi, of ghanabusinessnews.com, Assistant Secretary and Mr. Peter Ankomah of the Daily Dispatch was elected Organising Secretary.
Dr. Doris Yaa Dartey, a communications consultant and educator and Mr. Daniel Kwaku Nkrumah, a veteran journalist were elected as Executive Members.
The EFG, is an affiliate of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) and it works to complement the efforts of the GJA to promote high standards of journalism in Ghana. It is also a peer review group of experienced journalists in senior positions including journalism educators and trainers.
